Amki orbits Barau, an F8-class star at 1.44 AUs. It is the eighth planet of twenty-four.
The planet Amki masses 1.9 Earth masses and has a diameter of just over 13000km. This gives it a density of 1.79 times Earth's, and so a surface gravity of 1.83Gs.
Amki's crust is 34.6% oxygen, 32.9% iron, 24.5% silicon, 6% aluminium, 1.2% titanium and the remainder other metals and elements. Its crust is thick and weathering is slow.
The surface of Amki is 72% water, mainly shallow seas but with some oceans. There is a large continent, a smaller one a few hundred kilometres from its southernmost point, and a great number of islands and archipelagos. The average global temperature is 18.6 degrees centigrade, though it can reach 40 or more at the equator.
Amki's atmosphere is 83% nitrogen, 16.5% oxygen and the remainder mainly argon. The pressure at sea level is 2.4 bars.
The planet takes 24.6 standard hours to rotate on its axis, and has an axial tilt at a steady 34 degrees. As such, it has large seasonal variations.
Amki has one large moon, around a fiftieth of its mass, orbiting at 400,000km. It has two smaller ones, massing only a thousandth of its mass, at 90,000 and 200,000km.
There is a great diversity of life on Amki. The main group of animals are multi-shelled vertebrates exhibiting peculiar endoskeletons of rock, and tend to be slow moving. Another group is a many-legged chordate group with unusual socketing skeletons, which tend to be the carnivores and are faster moving.
64% of the land area is temperate forest.
