Gehennians are the most powerful Daemons from the Daemoniverse.

Physiology

These daemons resemble enormous dragons. They have large, clawed wings, and bodies up to 40m long, including a long tail. Their four, thick legs are clawed.

Their skin is made from shifting scales, quite probably technological. Their brazen claws can be made to vibrate at extremely high rates, so to cut through even tough materials.

Their head is long, with many horns and red metallic eyes. Their mouths are full of blackened teeth. Within their mouths is a kind of weapon that launches a high-velocity jet of plasma, resembling a long flame.

They reproduce by Recombinatory Parthenogenesis or sexually. Sexually produced offspring would be far more powerful.

Strangely, Gehennians are capable of sensing Julth. This was built into them by Gehenne, who wished to use them as weapons (see Veiled One#History).

Intelligence

Gehennians are sapient, capable of complex thought and language. They are masters of strategy and problem-solving.

Due to their artificial nature, Gehennians are devoid of most emotions, save fear, anger, and most of all, hatred. However, this causes many to feel something known as "The Longing", where the afflicted suffer from feelings of emptiness and meaninglessness. Normally, these individuals attempt to satisfy the Longing with violence, looking to bloodshed to give them a sense of meaning and purpose. It often pushes them to a state of depression, despair, and even insanity.

It is said that despite their power, Gehennians remain one of the most unhappy races.

Equipment

Main article: Gehennian Armoury

Gehennians get the pick of Daemon equipment. They can upgrade or add weapons attached to their person, including their plasma beam and vibro-claws.

Importance

The Gehennians are the most powerful, and hence the leaders, of the demons.

All major campaigns are led by a Gehennian, and though certain Korgrath individuals have strategic talent, all major strategy is decided by Gehennians.

As such, each Gehennian has an escort of Zahhak. Many also have Daemon Warships and powerful Korgrath (Death's Shadow has none of these, only occasionally working with Reapers). Gehennians often have personal warships.
