The Laisth are a civilisation in the Obeidon universe. They are notable for being half biological and half Boltzmann entity.
Physiology
The Laisth are centauriformes, reaching up to 4m long. They are quite reptilian, with long skulls and many teeth. There are stripes down their flanks, and spiked tails.
Their skull is hollow, and contained within a box of bone. Their bone is strengthened and supplemented by a hydrovascular system, which gives them great strength.
They have three claws and a thumb on each hand. They have three claws on each foot.
A Boltzmann Mind takes up residence within their skull, attaching to a set of specially constructed nerves. These Minds cannot exist without the body, and the body goes into hibernation without the mind.
The Mind gives the Laisth powerful abilities, such as gravitational force fields and the ability to administer extreme electric shocks using the hand. Certain Laisth can travel through space or enter the Multiversal Fabric.
They are practically immortal, immune to age or disease.
Diet
Laisth do not need to eat to live. However, they eat to grow, consuming fruits and nuts.
Reproduction
Laisth are sexual, but do not reproduce often. One baby is born, and grows (if properly fed) to adult size in four years. No Laisth has been born in the last hundred years.
Intelligence
The Laisth Minds are very intelligent. They have a high understanding of the universe.
It is known that they are aware of the Sriven, Ravagers, and Nightforger.
They experience five emotions- joy, hatred, grief, love, and relaxedness.
Society
The Laisth are a meritocratic hierarchy, led by a group of individuals in council. They have many ranks, and these are assigned relative to power and intelligence.
These ranks include:
- High councillor (with subdivisions)
- Inquisitor
- Intelligence Officer (of which there are varieties)
- Security Officer (of which there are varieties)
- Vanguard
- Analyst
- (laypersons)
They believe in maintaining Obeidon, and preserving life.
Technology
The Laisth have inter-universal technology. They can jump dimensions, destroy galaxies, defeat Minds and other such feats.
History
The Laisth bodies evolved around two trillion AM, according to records. The minds had previously inhabited stellar phenomena.
They allowed the Laisth to develop civilisation and spread, spreading outside their initial universe.
Relations with other factions
The Laisth are dedicated to helping life, and their relationships affect this.
The Vision
The Laisth and The Vision are good allies, assisting each other often. Some consider the Laisth part of the Vision.
Cimmerian Minds
The Laisth are at war with the Cimmerians.
Darkshades
The Laisth attempt to stop the Darkshades.
