Gahuatl
The Gahuatl is a herbivorous animal from Tozhlocticzon.
Physiology
The Gahuatl is a 10m-long creature, massing 3 tonnes and 3m at the shoulder. It has molars, with retractable fang teeth between them.
It has three eyes, being a tetracrurian, but one has been covered in horn and has weakened to the point of uselessness.
The creature's scales are thin, but it has spikes along its side which usually lie flat against it, but can quickly be raised to act defensively.
Their legs do not bend downwards, so they must sleep standing up.
Diet
The Gahuatl eats the low-lying, soft plants between the jungle trees.
Reproduction
An egg-laying, sexual animal, the Gahuatl mates and then lays its clutch of 2-8 eggs. The eggs stay stuck to the female's underside, and are carried around.
The eggs take one month to hatch. After this, they follow their mother around for ten years, until they can safely move separately.
Intelligence and Behaviour
Gahuatl are of low intelligence, but respond aggressively to anything feathered. They move in herds of 10-20, staying by the shore forests.
