Iron Skulls
The Iron Skulls is a mercenary association in the Viperius Galaxy.
Services
The Iron Skulls offer mercenaries for comparatively low wages, in large numbers. They have good-quality equipment, such as Gladius assault rifles, Stonecutter SMGs, and Skarg Handcannons.
However, the contract obliges the customer to pay for accommodation and provision of its mercenaries.
No questions are asked of the customer. A mercenary dying in service commands a fee (lower than that of provision).
Organisation
The corporation was founded by Vaggor, a Skarg chieftain who realised the market niche in mercenaries. He founded the organisation on the planet Haerk, and it then rapidly grew.
He was killed and his place taken by Last Sun, a Vrah (if rumours are to be believed).
Personnel
Exact figures are not known, but the best estimates for manpower are:
- 59600 Skarg
- 44300 Zyrothans
- 34000 Banshaen
- 24200 Alxen
- 23700 Xodu
- 22950 Salsenes
- 21560 Vrah
- 12500 Detroni
- 8000 Velaya
Equipment
Standard Iron Skulls equipment consists of the Gladius Assault Rifle, Mauler Heavy Pistol, and Oriscale Body Armour. Skarg are equipped with Hand Cannons, HMGs, and Skarg armour. Vrah are usually given Vampron Sniper Rifles.
It is also known that the Iron Skulls possess many spacecraft, dropships, and vehicles (including the ubiquitous Javelin Gunship).
Their fleet is believed to consist of fifty-two ships. Eight are Merkth-class cruisers, ten are Sabre-class light cruisers, ten are Dagger-class light cruisers, five are Daybird-class cruisers, five are Xalk-class cruisers, three are Detroni frigates, ten are Vrah Hunterships and one is an Aquila-class battle cruiser.
The battle cruiser is named the Raging Beast.
Relations with other organisations
The Iron Skulls often buy and adapt Paragon Weapons Systems technologies.
They are in competition with Elkos Combine Security. The Iron Skulls win out in rougher regions, but some governments do not allow the Iron Skulls to set up on their planets, and so in those areas, ECS is ahead.
