Mantrus
Mantrus is a planet in the Viperius Galaxy. It was the Mantrid homeworld, and the site of their eventual
destruction in 3.999(.986) AM.
Characteristics
Mantrus is the second planet from a G0-type star, orbiting at 1.05 AUs.
Size
With a diameter of 15800km and a mass of around 1.5 Earths, Mantrus has a density of 0.79 times Earth's and a surface gravity of 0.98Gs.
Composition
The crust of Mantrus is 38.9% oxygen, 21.9% iron, 20.2% silicon, 17.0% magnesium, 2.0% other metals and trace other elements.
Surface
The surface of Mantrus was previously 59% water, but sea levels have since declined.
Atmosphere
Mantrus' atmosphere is 82.5% nitrogen and 17% oxygen. The surface pressure is 3.1 bars.
Rotation
Mantrus takes 42.4 standard hours to rotate on its axis, and has a stable axial tilt of 13°.
Satellites
The planet has one moon, Prayet, which has a mass equivalent to 3 lunar masses and orbits at 300,000km, dominating the night sky.
Biosphere
Mantrus possesses an advanced biosphere. With the decline of the coastal forests, there has been a mass extinction across the planet and this has had repercussions for life all over the planet. The desert organisms live still, but they too have suffered losses.
There are large dead zones near the shore.
