Characteristics

Vasitus is a medium-sized, terrestrial world. It is the second (at 0.9 AU) of five planets around a K1-class star.

Size

At 5860km across, Vasitus has around 0.92 times Earth's radius. It has 0.73 times the mass, and so 0.93 times Earth's density. The surface gravity is 0.86G.

Rotation

Vasitus' day lasts 21 hours and 34 minutes. Its year is 324 days long.

Composition

Vasitus's crust is 40.3% oxygen, 28.3% silicon, 8.8% iron, 6.5% sulphur, 8.2% aluminium, 5.6% other metals, and 4.0% other elements. The sulphur is locked away in sulphates.

Surface

Vasitus' surface is 53% water and 2% ice. The temperature ranges from -5° to +42°C.

Atmosphere

The atmosphere on Vasitus is 75.1% nitrogen, 23.5% oxygen, 0.9% argon and trace other gases.

Satellites

There is one large moon orbiting Vasitus, around 1.1 times the size of Earth's and at 1.5 times the distance. There is also a smaller one, a fifth as massive.

Inhabitants

Races on Vasitus included the Lentaa and Lutrians.

The land is dominated by large reptilian herbivores and small aerial predators that form big packs.
